The question is: Whatever happened to the jazz-rock-fusion of the Seventies?
The answer is: Jamie Craig is keeping it alive and well.
The more complete answer is: Jazz-rock-fusion morphed. The smoothest and jazziest material became smooth-jazz; the rocking-est gravitated to prog-rock; and the softest entered the new age genre. Jamie Craig reverses the trend by taking a little new age, some smooth jazz and a bit of the instrumental parts of progressive rock and mixes them all together on his second CD, ILLUMINATION. (You are welcome to play the game SPOT THE INFLUENCES while you listen).
This is not extremely hard and heavy music, but emotional instrumental music with a gentle backbeat. If you fondly remember when jazz and rock collided and fused together several decades back, you owe it to yourself to take a listen to this modern tribute to another era and to an old-school genre.
